Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dancing Disco Divas (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our website and register for classes.

Who we are

Controller: Dancing Disco Divas
Contact: info@dancingdiscodivas.co.uk
Address: 19 St. Lukes Rd, Brighton, BN2 9ZD
Founder: Kerry Kent

What information we collect

When you register for a class we collect:

  • Contact details: name, email address and telephone number.
  • Booking details: your preferred session and whether you are booking a trial session or a full term.
  • About you: your age, and optionally your gender identity, how you describe yourself, your pronouns and an emergency contact.
  • Health information: any injuries, conditions, medication or accessibility needs you tell us about.

Health and gender identity information

Information about your health, and information about gender identity where it relates to your sex life or sexual orientation, are treated as special category personal data under UK GDPR. We ask for it only so that Kerry can adapt the class to you and keep you safe while you are dancing.

  • We rely on your explicit consent, given via the checkbox on the registration form, to process this information.
  • It is seen only by Kerry and is not shared with anyone else except where necessary in a medical emergency.
  • You can withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete this information, at any time by emailing info@dancingdiscodivas.co.uk. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer safely adapt the class for you.
  • Providing the optional fields — gender identity, self-description, pronouns and emergency contact — is entirely your choice, and leaving them blank will never affect your place in a class.

How we use your information

  • To process your registration and confirm your place in a class.
  • To respond to enquiries about classes, schedules and prices.
  • To make the class safe and suitable for you.
  • To contact someone on your behalf in an emergency, if you have given us a contact.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Lawful bases for processing

We process personal data under one or more of the following lawful bases:

  • Explicit consent: for health information and other special category data.
  • Contract: to deliver the class you have booked and paid for.
  • Legitimate interests: responding to enquiries, improving our services and maintaining the website, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation: where required by law.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal data. Registration forms submitted through this website are delivered to us by a third-party form provider, and we use trusted providers for email and web hosting. These providers are required to protect your data and only use it to provide their service to us.

How long we keep your information

We keep contact and booking details for as long as you attend classes and for up to two years afterwards, so we can let you know about future terms. Health information is kept only for the duration of the term it relates to, and is deleted at the end of that term unless you ask us to keep it for the next one. We keep records for longer only where legal or accounting requirements apply.

How we protect your information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to help protect personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • Access to your personal data
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of your data, in certain circumstances
  • Restriction of, or objection to, processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdrawing consent, where processing is based on consent

To exercise your rights, contact us at info@dancingdiscodivas.co.uk.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date.
